Aakriti Bista
Chicago
Aakriti Bista is based in the firm’s Chicago office. Aakriti’s practice focuses on civil litigation, including the defense of auto, truck, construction, and premises liability injury claims, and a wide range of civil litigation matters.
Aakriti’s past experience includes serving as a law clerk at Loevy & Loevy, where she focused on civil rights cases and legal writing for federal court matters. She also clerked at Kerkonian Dajani, assisting with complex civil and criminal appeals. Prior to joining BVH, Aakriti managed a high-volume personal injury docket, securing substantial settlements for her clients, and handling over a dozen arbitrations with a high success rate.Aakriti graduated from Hanover College with a major in Sociology and double minors in Communications and Political Science. She obtained her law degree from University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law. While in law school, Aakriti received the American Law Institute’s Class of 2025 Scholarship and Leadership Recognition in acknowledgement of her academic excellence and leadership. She also earned CALI Excellence for the Future Award for achieving the highest grade in White Collar Crime, Race and the Law, Property Law, and Bar Skills. She externed with the Kentucky Innocence Project and she represented tenants as a student attorney through the Eviction Clinic. She also served as the Senior Articles Editor for Volume 16 of the Journal of Animal and Environmental Law.
Aakriti is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois. She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Cook County Bar Association.
