Whitney L. Burkett
Whitney Burkett is based in the firm’s Chicago office. Whitney’s practice focuses on civil litigation, including the defense of medical malpractice, auto, truck, construction, and premises liability injury claims as well as municipality and labor and employment litigation.Whitney’s past experience includes the defense of catastrophic loss cases all over the country, having practiced pro hac vice in Washington, Tennessee, Iowa, California, and Colorado alongside her steady Illinois case load. Though she is ready to diversify her practice areas, she has primarily focused her practice on the defense of medical malpractice cases for hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and individual medical professionals of varying specialties.
Whitney graduated from Tulane University with a degree in Psychology and minors in History and Business. She obtained her law degree from DePaul University College of Law in 2009. While in law school, Whitney was an active member of the Student Bar Association, and during her undergraduate years she was an active member of Tulane’s chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta, having held multiple offices during her four years in New Orleans.
Whitney is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois and the United States District Court - Northern District of Illinois. She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Chicagoland Healthcare and Risk Management Society.
